KY4ARC meets monthly on the First Thursday of the month at the Mayo Methodist Church (325 Third Street), Paintsville, Kentucky at 7:00p.m. (2300z).  VE testing starts at 6:00pm (2200z) by previous appointment. Come early if want to fellowship with others. For those who use\ GPS, the co-ordinance is 37° 48' 58.61"N by 82° 48' 26.25"W.

 

 Anyone interested in Ham radio is welcome to attend any meeting.

Minutes for Meeting

February 8th, 2018 Thursday

 

This meeting was for the cancelled meeting on Feb. 1st.

3 people took license exams this meeting One passed Tech and General, one passed General and one failed General.

Meeting was called to order at 7:45 by Ben Welch.

There were fifteen attendees at this meeting.

The late start of the meeting was because chili and apple pies were served by John Hager and Ken Robinson. Thanks go to both of them.

 

Minutes for December meeting were read by Ron Grossl.

Treasurer’s report was read by Austin Denyer

Also, he reported that we have 16 paid members at this time.

 

Motion was made and passed to accept both reports.

 

Old Business

 

The Licensing class is now over.  They had a total of 8 people who took tests.

We had a brief discussion of contests in which the club may want to participate this year.

Ron Grossl reported that the club bylaws were typed and ready to be published as soon as any needed amendments were made.

 

New Business

 

A motion was made and passed to postpone the pursual of a 501 c3 application until it may be deemed necessary.

A motion was made and passed to have Ross Leedy submit the data for our September Hamfest on the ARRL’s hamfest calendar.

A motion was made and passed to have the church Youth Group handle the concessions for the hamfest again this year.

 

A mutual agreement was made to hand the web page maintenance over to Ken Robinson.

 

A presentation of the certificate for Ham of the Quarter to Gary Mullins was made by Ben Welch.

 

The demonstration of the DMR Openspot to be given by Rob Johnson was postponed until next meeting.

 

Motion to adjourn was made and passed at 8:45
